Using latest stable xorg (not 7/modular)...I'm trying to adjust my mouse sensitivity/speed. With the USB mouse I have on my laptop, it is way too sensitive, the mouse speed is too high. I've been trying unsuccessfully to adjust the mouse speed, but I can't find an option to do it. The only thing I could find in any of the man pages is the Resolution option in xorg.conf...I tried changing this to many different values, no effect. KDE and GNOME don't have any settings that affect this either, I checked all of them. Does anyone have any ideas? |

I thought the Resolution option could change the sensitivity. I have mine at 200 and it works perfectly. Not very fast, not very slow. _________________ http://black.daemons.gr/msid/ |

I changed it to several different values between 8 and 512 and it made no difference. Could the protocol be the problem? Should I be using IMPS/2 for a USB mouse? |

I am using IMPS/2 for my laptop's touchpad. Try it if it works for you. But I am almost positive that teh Resolution option is responsible for the mouse sensitivity. You may also try to use the Auto protocol and see if it makes any difference. _________________ http://black.daemons.gr/msid/ |

Tried all of that...resolution does not affect mouse sensitivity in any way. This is an external USB mouse that I'm using...the touchpad sensitivity is okay by default. |
