I thinking about trying to get a bluetooth headset working for use with skype.
Any recommendations? _________________ Play me online, well ya know that I'll beat you. If I ever meet you, I'll CRTL-ALT-DEL you!!!

Bluetooth headset devices all work the same and should all work the same. The only problems you would encounter are if the manufacture doesn't properly conform to the spec. _________________ "...as we enjoy great advantages from the inventions of others, we should be glad of an opportunity to serve others by any invention of ours, and this we should do freely and generously." -Benjamin Franklin |

I don't know wether it's true or not, but someone in this thread (page 6) claims that you need a CSR Chip based Bluetooth dongle for this purpose. |

I have read similar things about compatible chipsets, etc.
Has anyone got it working with skype? What headset/dongle did you use? _________________ Play me online, well ya know that I'll beat you. If I ever meet you, I'll CRTL-ALT-DEL you!!!

I have a "Billionton" bluetooth doogle (CSR Chip) working together with a "Logitech" Mobile F-0228A" bluetooth headset.
The sound quality is fair when using skype.
The "Billionton" doogle is old and slow and only support bluetooth protocol v1.1. Look for a doogle that supports v1.2 or v2.0 for better sound quality. The CSR Chipset is known to work under linux.
You can find a list of bluetooth headsets working under linux at http://bluetooth-alsa.sourceforge.net/
Best regards

I am aware of that list, however I have yet to find a compatibility list of dongles.
Will just anyone work? _________________ Play me online, well ya know that I'll beat you. If I ever meet you, I'll CRTL-ALT-DEL you!!!
