Hi. I have a severely annoying problem with fonts in xorg as of late. There is a straight, horizontal line randomly over characters. Lowercase u's and capital k's especially seem to be the biggest victims of the horizontal line beatings. Here is an example. You can see the line on the u in Buddies on my gaim buddy list, always.

I am using modular xorg 7.0, and gtk+ 2.8.12. I'm not sure what else is important. I only use gtk apps. It occurs in an assortment of others, like firefox. It doesn't seem to affect a few fonts, like arial or monospace but it affects a lot of others, like bitstream, which I used to use all the time.
Anyways, suggestions?

Turn off RenderAccel in xorg.conf. Try the example fonts.conf. |

Beautiful. I did both of those things, as well as edited the fonts portion as per the guide (only removed the scaled fonts they had listed as unscaled) and my fonts are pretty again
Thanks a lot for the assistance.
*EDIT* The ~/.fonts.conf had nothing to do with the fix. It was all xorg.conf related. |
