|
|
I just setup my printer and I can print all the test pages, including OpenOffice.org's, and it works fine in Mozilla too. But when I try to print something in OpenOffice.org Writer, the file is sent to the printer but the error light flashes and nothing gets printed. Why?
My printer is a Lexmark Optra E310 with Postscript driver.
Edit: OpenOffice.org version is 1.0.2 |

Just to let you know, you aren't the only one. I've got a brother hl-730DX that prints fine using cups. If I print from any program it seems to be ok. If I use OpenOffice the first page or 2 are ok, but then it seems to get confused, and I end up with reams and reams of garbage coming out of the printer.
Hoping to see an answer here. |

I read something about a printing bug in 1.0.3.
Don't know whether it affects 1.0.2 or not, but there's a patch at OOo-website available for 1.0.3 |

I thought that bug only affected version 1.0.3... Is it possible that my printer just isn't configured correctly?
A question for those who can print (especially using the postscrit driver): do you use some sort of filter that converts the file to another type? Could that be a possible reason why I can't print? |

I currently have cups and oo 1.0.3 installed. Printing works fine, *as long* as I don't select the cups driver! I only choose "Default Postscript Driver" even though both that and the cups are listed. _________________ www.ruinedsoft.com

There is a patch for OOo 1.0.3, Why not just use 1.0.3 with the patch? or use 1.0.3.1? 1.0.2 would presumable have more bugs than 1.0.3, i would upgrade before pursuing this further. |
