|

Hello,
I recently installed Gentoo Linux and I am attempting to browse the web. Currently I am using Konquerer (from inside KDE) to websurf. When I try to use Galeon, it loads multiple instances (i.e. 7) of itself and when I try to use Mozilla, it does not work at all. Any suggests? Thank you.

After reading all the other problems that everyone else had, I decided I would just go with one; I dont really need 2 web browsers anyway. I emerge unmerge(d) both of them, and then (r)emerge(d) Galeon since I prefer that one anyway. Thanks for your help anyways. |

?
so you unmerged galeon and mozilla
then you merged galeon which first had to merge mozilla since it is a dependency
so now you have 2 browsers instead of 2 browsers
huh?
seriously though there is nothing wrong with having multiple browsers you just have to know that this issue exists and avoid running mozilla or galeon as root.
If you do run mozilla as root and have trouble remove the compreg.dat file and it should be fine. |
