Back on Slack Abiword was fairly solid, at lease as stable as MSWord. But here things are getting bad. Abiword doesn't seem to like Gentoo, when I first moved it seemed a little shaky (the gnome print issues) but still usable. Right now I can't copy and paste, I can't save as a .doc or .rtf, sometimes I can't even save as an .abw, I can't set a list to start at a number greater than 6. I've submitted two bugs to abiword, both times I got back "It works for me, sorry".
Why don't I stop using abiword? Because it's a really nice program. Right now I'm using the windows version running in wine to work on my large collection of abword files. But what scares me is that running in wine is rock solid, and the native version can't last 5 minutes.
Anyone have some advice? |

never had a problem.
abiword rocks. i would be lost without it. it reads and saves docs, and it is as stable as.... euhhhh...... my kitchen table (why not)
i remeber it use to crash a while ago after install. turning off auto spell solved that... but it's probably not the issu you have.
hope it starts working for you
