Quake4 and Doom3 are always fun although my machine (P4 2.66ghz, 2GB RAM, 128MB Ti4200) is on the lower spec end for these games.
I use to play Unreal 2004 demo but never got the full version.
Of the older games Quake3 is always a hit, esp at college where for some reason its the not graphics of Q4 that count but the amount of action and fraggin on the local network. Due to this the original Unreal is most loved.
However the one I play the most of late though is X-plane (http://www.x-plane.com which i purchased from the said site. Beautiful Flight Simulator, I don't mind the 60GB of scenary as well on 7DVD's. I've been careful not to call it game, This is serious flight, you even need real charts are plates if to get the most of game. I like how its pretty close to the real world in terms of navigation so you can fly a plane on the same route / way points as the real airliners do. The best aircraft of the Boeing 737-800NG by the Goodway team, tihs is the only aircraft I use for serious flight, it simulates nearly everything of the real plane from ground power, anti ice, Autopilot and there is a plugin that causes some functions provided by X-plane to be even more realistic. Read the 24 page manual though, otherwise you'll have no hope of really flying this bird...it's just to real...woah off on a tangent I am.
I don't mind a bit of Gnometric (tetris) |

Just started playing Rune again. Great game, but difficult to find since it's from Loki. Difficult to install too since the installer is very picky about which version of glibc you have. I've got a couple of other Loki games, they have the same problem. Luckily there's an ebuild.
I've also recently emerged ut2004-demo. It's entertaining I guess, not a huge advance on the original. Vehicles are fun in onslaught mode. The translocator is much more accessible, and the shield gun is an improvement over the hammer. Still not made up my mind to buy it yet though. If I still went to LAN parties like I used to at school I'd definitely buy it, but playing with strangers over the internets isn't as fun. If there's a Gentoo clan with some people from ##otw I'd probably join. Well is there? |

If I'd have to write all the games I play it would be a really huge list .
However my favourite is Armagetron Advanced. _________________ How will you notice that you spend too much time programming?

Well I ordered ut2k4 today, and put in an application to [gen2]. This had better not be one of those all American clans though. I've had experience with them before, I end up having to stay up till 2am to meet up for practices and scrims. |

Actually... it's more UK if I recall. But they don't mind having subclans for locations and games. I don't play UT or Quake much anymore since the current rig can't play it very well. _________________ CPU: 3800+ X2 (2.5Ghz)

I know what you're saying with the time difference. I got involved with EVE-online for a while in my 'doze days, and I joined a corporation with a mostly british/irish membership. Very hard to get together on mining operations and trips to unnamed space for bistot.

I've been looking for a good SMS emulator, thanks.
Rainbow Island here I come!
Edit: Is there any way to zoom? (i.e. x2, x4, etc); the view is quite small. Also, is there any way to save at any time, or can you only save when you would normally be allowed when playing on the actual console? Thanks. |

It's mainly europen but there is a usa/canada contingent who sometime play. Our server is in Germany. I'm in the UK and I ping fine to it.
We've got a pretty loyal core, but never really enough players to play competitively. We play the occassional fun war, but nothing too seriod. So as it stands, it's mostly for fun. _________________ http://www.gentoo-clan.org - http://brian.gentoo-clan.org |

I play BZFlag.
That is the game I love more than any other.
'don't know why, I guess I'm addicted.
I see that version 2.0.6 has been released from upstream.
Can't wait till it's in portage and stable.
That will be super cool.
