|
|
Roxor Games are working on a PC/Mac version of their Stepmania-based arcade/PS2 game "In The Groove". Even though the arcade version is actually an x86 running Linux, they are not planning on releasing a Linux port of the PC version! You heard that right, they are not releasing a Linux port of a game that was already native to Linux in the first place! Talk about a major blow to the Linux community!
But there's still hope! Their FAQ page mentions they may consider a Linux port if there is enough demand, along with a comment page to send those demands in. Please tell them you are interested!
There's also a thread on their forum regarding the subject, started by yours truly, if you want to check it out.
This is an real opportunity to make a difference and let a game company know there is a market for native Linux games, so please send in those suggestions! Thanks in advance!

I'd actuallt get this, it would be the only Linux game of it's kind, and would be something new, a break from the norm if you will. |
Only linux game of it's kind? hum i don't really know ITG but it's seems to be just another DDR game and linux have Stepmania for quite some time... And plus you can use ITG skin with stepmania to look like ITG game... |

ITG is a commercial version of Stepmania, with licensed songs and some other extra content. |

People will probably just take the songs out of ITG (someone already made themes for both of them), copy the official steps and put it on their website, and then you can get the songs without paying for the game. Probably not legal though, as if you care... people download tons of illegal songs a day, including most of the stepmania files we play with...

yeah, I don't promote cracking. Or ITG. And I'll submit a comment or whatever, but I'm just saying ITG is pretty much Stepmania that the devs put out there for money with a couple of liscensed songs, that people have probably downloaded illegaly in the first place. Not trying to be insensitive (or promote illegal activities), but somebody is gonna do it, that's just how people are. Not to mention the fact that some stepmania devs are pissed with many of the ITG ones... who themeselves were former SM devs. |
