I'm trying to install gentoo 1.4rc3 on my laptop but it stalls when booting from the CD... it's when it comes to "Detecting USB" it stalls and I can't get it to skip past that part.. I'm clueless here.
any1 got any ideas? (The laptop is running M$ windoze xp atm.. it's horrible! hehe) |

well firstly I would say download the latest rc_4 cd
and try that.

doh... now it works
it was during the detection of the soundcard is stalled with RC3.. but RC4 simply says "driver unknown" and continues booting |

u will prob have to use alsa for your sound then, cause the boot cd uses kernel sound I think.. alsa is better anyhow _________________ Kororaa install method - have Gentoo up and running quickly and easily, fully automated with an installer! |
