I have the xorg version: 6.8.2-r6. I have seen the new version 7.0-r1 is avaiable in portage (i'm using ~x86).
But if I try update it (emerge -u xorg-x11) I recive this error:
Code: |
Calculating dependencies... done!
!!! Error: the <=x11-base/xorg-x11-6.9 package conflicts with another package;
!!! the two packages cannot be installed on the same system together.
!!! Please use 'emerge --pretend' to determine blockers.

Then, I do: emerge --pretend xorg-x11, and I recive:
Code: |

You have to umerge the monolithic version first. Please see the Xorg-7 migration guide and follow up to topic 435172 if you need further assistance.
