| I rebuilt my system. I don't know what version of BT I had, but I used to run a script called btdownloadcurses.py or something like that. I've currently got net-p2p/bittorrent 4.2.2 emerged, but see no such script. Is it changed? |

| You have installed a bittorrent-server. If you want to download, ctorrent or qtorrent might be good ideas |

Yes, it has changed. You now have bittorrent-console and bittorrent-curses, depending on whether you want plain console output (good for scripting) or a curses interface (this would be the replacement for btdownloadcurses.py). |

No, the bittorrent package isn't a server package. It may contain one or more components for sharing and creating torrents, but most of the things in the package are client software. These are the non-windowed applications that come with the bittorrent package:

(The names have changed since the earlier versions. For example, what was known as btlaunchmanycurses.py is now known as launchmany-curses ...)

I totally forgot about this post. :/
I did happen to find what I was looking for, in /usr/sbin I believe. I would prefer a client that did minimal logging, and didn't have the terminal display it does, but I guess I can live.
