I have some problems with /etc/init.d, some scripts (not all) fails to run
Code: |
marco run # /etc/init.d/dbus start
* Starting D-BUS system messagebus ... [ !! ]
marco run #
|
btw
Code: |
# start-stop-daemon --start --pidfile /var/run/dbus.pid --exec /usr/bin/dbus-daemon -- --system
or
# /usr/bin/dbus-daemon
|
work like a charm!
here a dump from strace /etc/init.d/dbus start
The same with nifd, mDNSResponder, cupsd, irda ... |

Maybe you should reemerge all the thes faulty packages?!?
Additionally you should maybe reemerge the package "sys-apps/baselayout" and replace all the old config files in /etc with the new config files brought by baselayout. (hint: execute "etc-update", then say "-5" to replace all old config files with the new one).
