I need recommendation on which USB WLAN device to buy:
- 54Mbit or better
- WPA
- my linux pc should be able to act as an access point with that device.

After having looked for a PCI Wireles NIC that can act as an Access Point and a USB WNIC too, all I can say is....Good Luck!
I decided on some Edimax kit, but it looks like I will have to go to OpenBSD for the acces Point functionality.#
3com have a specific travel access point, that i USB, but I don't know about linux support, that looks good.
Also note if you have USB1 or 1.1 you ar limited to 11Mb/s anyway..... _________________ My Public Key

Thanks nevynxxx!
Then it's probably better to buy a stand alone access point and connect it via ethernet to my machine... |

I've been looking for this for more than a year... and bought a PCMCIA card
I choose a atheros chipset, with the madwifi drivers. And those don't support USB (yet) |
