When I try to emerge gtk+ (2.8.11, 2.8.12 or 2.8.17, doesn't matter which), I get the error message (snippet):

P.S. I had had a working gdm (gtk+) on the very same machine with kernel 2.6.15, but for some reasons I had to reinstall the machine (I went for 2.6.16 in this case) and I stalled... |
