ok, so I posted this in networking forums but now I feel it's more appropriate here. Basically, I have a Compaq Presario 2100US and I have changed my /etc/pcmcia/config.opts to match the file presented on a site which claims to get PCMCIA working but it doesn't. What happens is that when I insert a card into the slot it detects it (syslog shows messages about crds being inserted and removed) however there is no entry in lspci for the card. I have 3 cards, a 56k/fax/serial PCMCIA card, a 10/100Mbps ethernet adaptop (CardBus), and a WPC54G wireless adapter (CardBus). My only goal is to get the wireless card working with NDISWRAPPER however according to the info on it it only loads modules for cards if it can find an entry for the card in lspci so it oesn't work. Any ideas/suggestions would be welcome.

ok, after upgrading to PCMCIAutils (apparently gentoo docs are outdated as they say to use pcmcia-cs) lspcmcia will show a card if the fax/56k card is inserted. pccardctl status reports it as a 5.0V 16bit PCMCIA card. On the other hand, with the other cards they do not appear in lspcmcia but pccardctl status reports them as 3.3V 32bit CardBus cards. So from this it seems like there is some type of hardware problem preventing the use of 32 bit cards. Does anybody know of a way to conform this or to fix it or ....well anything?
