Hey guys,
This week I installed gentoo for the first time. Of course like every first time you have some problems where you 'll scratch your head from, but anyway, there ins't a problem that seems not to be covered here, so this forums guided me through my problems actually without posting.
To all regulars, helpers, everyone.... a big cheer and keep up the good work.
Btw Gentoo is seriously worth the long install and sleepless night ... |

Another soul converted to the brighter side of Linux!
Welcome to the flock!
I agree, these forums do really kick some serious butt when it comes to support, friendlyness, politeness (and a whole other bunch of words that can be suffixed with "ness") |

Surely a number of people is a crowd?

In my opinion nearly anything can be suffixed with "ness", and I frequently use them in conversation...
e.g. Wow! Martix Reloaded, wickedness.
Hmm, my exam went really badly, fucking-shitness.
etc.

Yeah, ok ok... but I thought flock would sound a little funnier.

actually, you *could* say that we're a "flock" because penguins are birds and birds come in flocks. the linux mascot is tux. tux is a penguin. penguins are birds. birds come in flocks. we like penguins, because penguins are tux and tux is the linux mascot. therefore, we are tux? and since we are tux, we are penguins, which are birds. so... welcome to the flock! _________________ I used gentoo BEFORE it was cool. |

One of the many reasons why I moved from Debian to Gentoo was the forums, they are the best around. |

That's a fair stretch of the imagination. I for one don't think of myself as a penguin.

Yup, made it out of a desktop-bg that I saw on these forums. Seems however that not everyone likes the new one, but the old one depicting Red XIII from Final Fantasy VII was from the standard avatars in the forum. Standard avatars are no fun since more than one user tends to use the best ones. Sorry puggy! I will be keeping this one...
(unless someone starts a poll like "Should Levi change back to his old avatar?") |
