Hello,
I have encountered a weird problem. I should say first that i tried some wiki and other manuals for proper font handling in xorg. Thanks to them, everywhere in my desktop, menus, etc, the fonts look nice. Nevertheless, firefox has a problem with the fonts now. Some sites (like google) has very small fonts, barely visible. Some sites have normal fonts, other sites (that used to work fine till some point) suddenly appear with huge fonts (which completely ruins layout and stuff).
I am using firefox 1.5.0.4, i've been adviced to use a stylesheet that would enforce a font over weppages settings', but that doesnt seem to be the best option. I am using 96x96dpi (in the command line, as well as set in xorg.conf), xdpyinfo reports 96 x 96 dpi. What may be causing weird fontsize on websites then?
SOLVED: Needed to remove/recreate the profile. Sigh.

i'm using 96x96 dpi too
in Firefox -> Edit -> Preferences -> Content -> Fonts & Colors
my choice: Bitstream Vera Serif - Size 10
and for advanced:
resolution: 96 dpi
minimal font size: 12
And most sites come up nicely
screen dimensions: 1400x1050 pixels (370x278 millimeters) _________________ Unanswered Post Initiative | Search | FAQ

Yeah, i have that set, Bitstream fonts everywhere, around 10-12 size.
Unfortunately, this setting doesn't take effect for some reason. Even if i enforce it (ie, untick the "allow pages to set other fonts"), some pages are still displayed with huge fonts, some with very small. I've tried changing that setting a lot, unfortunately no success. My screen resolution is 1152x864@85hz (4:3 ratio). |
