Ho lottato una mezza giornata per far stampare una macchinetta gentoo
via CUPS su una samsung ML-1650 (i cui PPD forniti dalla stessa samsung
non funzionavano  ).
Dopo un buon caffè, volevo permettere anche ad altre macchine
Linux (gentoo e RH) di stampare su cotella stampante. Niente di più facile,
mi sono detto. AAARRRGHHHHHH!!!!! LA GUFATA
Non c'è stato verso. Ho fatto tutte le modifiche del caso su cupsd.conf.
Riavviato i vari diavoli, stoppato firewall, dato il debug più alto a cups,
ma l'unica frase che riesco a strappargli quando da una macchina remota
tento di stampare è:

(hp6mp è il nome che ho dato alla stampante).
Che ne pensate?? Dò una martellata alla stampante?

La macchina che ha collegata la stampante utilizza cups per stampare?

Dopo aver provato tutti i PPD che la samsung da' in dotazione
col CD di installazione, ho aperto il 'driver' che usa per RH e ho
scoperto che usa il driver della HPLJ4L.
Ho selezionato quello, ho cambiato un po' di impostazioni e la stampante ha cominciato ad andare

AriIesse.
Dai logdel cups, mi sembra che il cupsd del client faccia precedere il nome della stampante con
un carattere ^B. Non so se e' questo che non permette la stampa
sul server.
E anche se cosi' fosse, non saprei come toglierlo.

Boh. Su google ho trovato gente che aveva lo stesso tuo problema, ma con un'altra samsung.
