greetings,
as postet in threadtitle i got some problems with that,

i got the asus n8x-e deluxe board with an gbit marvel 88e8001 chip
and a 100mbit realtek rtl8201bl chip
with the 100mbit chip im connected to my "home-lan" with switch and router, modem etc.. (dhcp on)
the gbit chip is connected to a seperate gbit only network where i got a gbit switch and 3 other pcs working with(static ips)

the error is as followed,
the genkernel first doesnt found the eth1(which is the 100mbit realtek chip , modul forcedeth i assume) so
i take the forcedeth modul to autoload and rebooted, while boot following error occured , "Loading module forcedeth"
Failed to load forcedeth
i search a bit of this forum, tried to find out whats happend, the module isnt in the module list where the kernel looks,
( /lib/modules/kernel-2.6.16/ -type f -iname '*.o' -or -iname '*.ko' )
so my guess is:
how do i emerge/or build or whatever its called/ the module forcedeth into the genkernel,
i cant connect to the internet or my gbit lan ,
i got another os installed which is workin fine so if i just need a file to download from somewhere its np (just say me what file where to put etc)

if you need more information ill try to give asap,
mostly i need to reboot via install cd, cause theres nothing installed at all ,

if you ask me why not making my own kernel, im too stupid, i tried bout 15 or 20 times and never got a working kernel :(

theres another problem: i guess my boot partion isnt mounted right way
cause thers nothing in it when i try to change to it,
buts not that important right now and i want to search try and find out myself first :)

i did the link(?) for autostart eth0 and eth1 just as it was posted in the howto or in the handbook im not sure where it stand but i followed exactly ^^
ifconfig -a only shows the localhost

" /etc/init.d/net.eth0 start" gets following:
starting eth0
bringing up eth0
192.168.5.2 (my static ip as i write in the /etc/conf.d/net file)
eth0 does not exist
" /etc/init.d/net.eth1 start" gets following:
starting eth1
bringing up eth1
dhcp
eth1 does not exist

if i need to get more infos for you, plz be as exact as possible what i need to do, some things i understand already but mostly i got way to less knowledge bout how gentoo works,
(for example if i need to reboot with the install cd and change to my installed system via chroot, what do i need to do before? mounting is all isnt it? then just the commands from the handbook (env-update .. and such ) or is there a point what i missed?)
thx

ps: sry i tried to write as good as i can but still my eng sux.

edit1 : i forget to mention that i think coldplug doesnt got installed right, there was somethin about no right to execute files or something like that, /i thought i could fix it later but well without connection to the internet its hard :)
