I have problems with internet while surfing on the web with browser. Internet works well couple of minutes but after that all traffic stops, ping didn't work etc. I have to restart with
Code:
/etc/init.d/net.eth0 restart
to get it works again. I have also noticed that ip addresses lease time are growned about two weeks despite i have reseted and power-off my modem. Before it renewed automatically. I'm using dynamic dns with dhcp. Connection works if start gentoo and didn't do anything but immidiately for pair of minutes it stops if receive and send packets.

First thought: Modem or Network Card is broken!

Can you try /or did you already try with another OS?

Give some more infos!!!

How do you connect to the internet ...

That problem occured when i updated dhcpcd ebuild from 2.0.6 to 2.0.8, i viewed it from logs that dhcpcd was emerged 19th of June 2006 and problem continues. Is it related to that, not sure ? In second OS WinXp net works well. I'm using TCM290 with usb and with kernel 2.17.0-r2, all neworking options compiled direct to kernel not modules.

It could be that the network interface drops for some reason. Can you see anything in dmesg after the connection drops?

Oddly enough, the interface does not drop, otherwise you would see kernel messages about it, and most certaily you wouldn't be seeing logged incoming packets.

Does tcpdump detect any outgoing DHCP packets? Incoming responses? It's a very handy tool for situations like these.
