OK, that may be a slight overstatement
Anyway: we have just published a new document: the Gentoo Linux Kernel Configuration Guide, which provides fairly accessible answers to many of the most common questions asked on this forum. i hope people find it useful, it's way overdue.

There it goes. I suppose it covers most of the things that a new user might mess up on, but could always be more in-depth on some kernel subjects. |

There really is no substitute for experience (and being able to actually understand things).
This does however look quite useful. Could've used this back on Slackware.. |
