|
|
Hi all,
I am happy with the Livecd Gentoo. Keeping in mind that
I DONT want to install Livecd, I have 2 questions:
1) There is a way that I install other packages and set my
own configuration, BUT dont lose them when I stop
running live CD ???
Maybe I need to set the store directory (of configuration and packages)
on my hard disk. There is a way ???
2) Is LiveCD work with swap ??? If yes, can I redirect to my
hard disk, to improve the size ?
Thanks for help. |

you could modify the livecd, so that it can do that (I mean, storing configs & newly emerged packages on a partition on your hd) but I really don't see the point in doing so... (if you must have a partition dedicated to this, why not installing everything?) if you just need the livecd to suit your needs better, you could directly make another with the features you need. if you want to continuously modify it, then why use a livecd? second, swap. the livecd definitely works with swap, and swap can only be on hd... if it is in RAM, it's not swap! and it cannot be on the cd :-) so the second part of your question doesn't make much sense. anyway, if you have a swap partition on your hd, you just swapon it. _________________ The box said "Requires Windows 95 or better." I can't understand why it won't work on my Linux computer. |
