Come faccio a sapere se verrà supportato dal kernel? :roll:

se è qui dentro http://www.networkupstools.org/compat/stable.html è sicuramente supportato. Se non è lì, è abbastanza probabile che sia supportato.

Se compi APC vai sul sicuro! Come sw c'è apcupsd che è una bomba. Funziona anche con altri UPS btw.

come ha detto deadhead, l'unica soluzione è APC
è vero: è un po' più costosa delle altre marche, ma in queste cose il fatto di voler risparmiare vuol dire solo spendere più soldi poi per fare funzionare le cose.
APC è una garanzia, in ogni senso. gli altri danno solo rogne. provato sulla mia pelle

Io avrei individuato APC smart con un interfaccia seriale, ma nella lista non appare specificata l'interfaccia.
E' indipendente da questo?
