Hi all

I can't play two audio streams at once, using a nvidia nforce2 based mb (sry don't know more info about it). Can this be fixed? quite anoying having to turn sound of all the time if I'm going to stream a movie or sound not being played to notify me of stuff while I'm listening to music.

Hi!
You are using ALSA, right?
To play more than one sound at one you have to enable software-Mixing (aka dmix). Have a look at the Gentoo Wiki.

audiocius and mpg321 wont play nice, I restarted alsasound and get this when trying to play things in a term.
Code:

ALSA lib pcm_dmix.c:862:(snd_pcm_dmix_open) unable to open slave
No default libao driver available.

Hhmm... I'm sorry, but I don't know what's causing this error.
Maybe updating alsa-lib helps?
Did you setup your ~/.asoundrc according to the special information for Nforce-Chipsets mentioned in the wiki?
