/etc/conf.d/clock | utc oder local?

Hallo!
Ich habe auf meinem Home Server Linux installiert.
Was muss ich für die Uhrzeit einstellen? local oder utc ?

Mehr oder weniger Geschmackssache; gehen tut beides.
Bei Dualboot mit Windows sollte man aber tunlichst local einstellen weil sonst Win bei jedem Booten die Uhr verstellt.

Und was ist nun besser, wenn ich NUR Gentoo installiert habe?

z.B. dann wenn du in absehbarer Zeit vorhast in eine andere Zeitzone umzuziehen mußt du nur /etc/localtime anpassen und gut.

Hallo,

bei Linux-only-Systemen immer UTC. Ist dann viel einfacher z.B. für LiveCDs zum korrekten Setzen von Timestamps etwa auf deinen Partitionen.
Bei Dual Boot nehm ich auch meistens UTC, wenn ich Windows selten boote (und mir die falsche Uhr dort egal ist). Ansonsten eben local.

Bitte dann unter Windows die automatische Umstellung auf Sommerzeit abstellen, sonst wunderst Du Dich zweimal im Jahr...
