For anyone to help you with this you need to post more of the error. Somewhere above what you posted the output would have included an error message (including "error" in the message). Look for the earliest error, then post everything from that point down. |

You could see if an older version of xgl works e.g. 0.0.1_pre20060714. _________________ How many people can read hex if you and dead people can read hex? |

Although cgwd-0.45 compiles fine. _________________ How many people can read hex if you and dead people can read hex? |

I had no problem compiling 0.49, but it's got major problems. The frame is offset so you get no frame on the left and a huge one on the right. When resizing the window, the frame resize lags behind the rest of the window. I dropped back to 0.45 because Quinn's CVS has been down all morning so I can't see if these problems have been fixed.
The undefined references you are getting sounds like a cairo version mismatch. Do you have the latest cairo, 1.2.2, installed? |

Yes, I have this problem too, I think cgwd 0.49 also blocked some nautilus features such as show desktop icons.
Not confirmed, but after I emerge 0.49 and reboot, the desktop icons are disappeared and I can't right click on the desktop now.
Maybe 0.52 has been solved this problem, but I don't know where to get cgwd source, I got this information from http://xgl.compiz.info/, but it only provide .deb to download. |

Same here, cgwd-0.49, no left window frame and a huge transparent grey right window frame. |

Cleaned up the Intel portion of the repo a bit.
You do not use the "intel" use flag anymore for Intel video cards. I have updated the ebuilds for xorg-server and xorg-x11 and removed the "intel" references.
Now we can use xf86-video-i810 direct from portage >=1.6.0. I have 1.6.5 working perfect here with latest Mesa and Xorg-server and Xorg-x11 from overlay.
Any issues with these intel changes, please let me know.
Thanks. _________________ If God were a pickle, I'd still say "no pickle on my burger".

Anybody else getting these issues with the latest CVS version of compiz-quinnstorm and cgwd? compiz-quinnstorm-0.0.13-quinn31 and cgwd-0.52 are the current CVS versions I believe.
I'm on 2006.0 running AMD64, Gnome 2.14, KDE 3.5.4.
When I installed the CVS version of compiz-quinnstorm and cgwd, I seem to have lost my Super+D and Super+R (where Super==Windows Key) shortcuts that I used a lot (I didn't use any others except for the Super+Ctrl to do a single rain drop where your cursor is located and this function still seemed to work, so I assume they've all gone). When I downgraded compiz-quinnstorm and cgwd back to 0.13.20 and 0.45 respectively, the shortcuts came back. I also checked in both gset-compiz, and gconf-editor to see if they had been unbound, but they were still there with all versions. Mind you, these shortcut keys still work in KDE, just not Gnome. I can't seem to bind it anywhere else in Gnome because the Super key can only be used by itself in the keyboard shortcuts. Odd huh?
Now with the cgwd bug. I was running both CVS versions of compiz-quinnstorm and cgwd, and when I maximized a window the wobbly effect would only "wobble" once, and then instantly snap to the screen. Same happaned for when I un-maximized it. But when I downgraded back to cgwd-0.45 (and left compiz-quinnstorm at the CVS version still with the shortcut key bugs), the wobbly effect works like normal. This happens in both KDE and Gnome.
Any suggestions? I'm about to post this on the compiz site as well but thought I'd post a copy over here. |

hi,
i noticed that xgl(-0.0.1_pre20060714-r1) eats up lots of mem (almost 400mb res), is this normal? do you guys have the same memory usage?
are there any tweaks, settings, ... to reduce it?
thanks. |

gnome-window-decorator has been replaced by 'cgwd', which has much less gnome dependencies. You still need some gnome stuff (like gconf), but switching to cgwd allowed me to remove about 30 gnome-related packages. |
great stuff think i'll finally give it another go then , sorry for slow reply was off doing other things thanx _________________

smn, I am running xgl-0.0.1_pre20060714-r1 on an AMD64 machine and it is only using 154MB. I've done nothing to tweak it. If it's helpful, I'm running this on a laptop with a radeon x700 with the current proprietary drivers (8.27-10-r1). |
