:oops: Whoops! :oops:

I don't know what possesed me to do this, but I removed it and I can not find a way to replace. I've tried pulling it off a liveCD but on boot it always claims I need quickstart installed, which never was before.

Is the best way to fix this it to re-run the install cd and emerge something, I have no idea what. Or unpack one of the stages? I installed from stage1.

Any ideas? I feel like a total dunce :roll:

I think net.eth0 would be in the package baselayout
so try booting from the livecd, chrooting, and emerging baselayout?

Work got in my way with this :)

Tried emerge baselayout...didn't make a net net.eth0, but it did prevent /proc from mounting :D

I'm open to suggestions

Look in /usr/portage/sys-apps/baselayout/files;

You'll see a rc-scripts-1.4.3.8p1.tar.bz2 archive.

All the init scripts are contained therein.

Hmmmm, I'm not entirely sure, but /proc is a virtual file system.

If you have actually deleted the whole thing it might just be a case of creating the directory
Code:

mkdir /proc

and then rebooting... it might just rebuild itself...

Try it and let me know!

Thanks for the help fiend. Recreating the /proc directory allowed it to boot (odd it was deleted somehow...) and then I was able to get the net.eth0 script back

Thanks!! 8)
