so after I instaled the nvidia drivers, I tried it out on xscreensaver. It failed, with a bunch of undefined references.
e.g.: /usr/lib64/opengl/nvidia/lib/libGLcore.so.1: undefined reference to `_nv000016gl'
here are my glcore.so*s:
Code: | /usr/lib64/opengl/nvidia/lib/libGLcore.so.1.0.8756
/usr/lib64/opengl/nvidia/lib/libGLcore.so
/usr/lib64/opengl/nvidia/lib/libGLcore.so.1
/usr/lib64/xorg/modules/extensions/libGLcore.so
/usr/lib64/libGLcore.so
/usr/lib32/opengl/nvidia/lib/libGLcore.so.1.0.8756
/usr/lib32/opengl/nvidia/lib/libGLcore.so
/usr/lib32/opengl/nvidia/lib/libGLcore.so.1
/usr/lib32/libGLcore.so

What version of the nvidia-glx and nvida-kernel are you using?
Do you get the Nvidia splash screen when your GUI is starting?
Are there any errors in your /var/log/messages, or log's for Xorg?
Please provide more info than a dir listing of your .so files.
try emerging nvidia-driver instead of the glx and kernel.
unmerge glx and kernel, and emerge the nvidia-driver.
its masked so be aware of that. _________________ eXklusve
You do know that no one gives a shit about your system spec's right? |
