I tried to patch my 2.6.17.11 kernel.org kernel with the 2.6.17 suspend 2 patch from http://www.suspend2.net/ : Latest stable version for 2.6 kernels: 2.2.7
but I get a failure:
Code: |
spitfire linux # ./suspend2-2.2.7-for-2.6.17/apply
Applying 2010-suspend2-freezer-upgrade.patch ...
Applying 2020-kmod-freeze.patch ...

Applying 9920-linus-basic-trace.patch ...
Applying 9920-linus-console-suspend-resume.patch ...
Applying 9930-pdflush-fix.patch ...
9930-pdflush-fix.patch will not apply cleanly. Reverse applied patches [Yn]? Y
Reversing patches...

Done.

I am guessing that this is caused by another patchset I have applied (so it's not vanilla anymore right? some cinamon in there at least) how should I proceed? How do I know if it is safe to go ahead or wor through the problem... Do I need to go for a 18 kernel??
TIA

remove this patch from directory
Code: |
9930-pdflush-fix.patch
|
This was a kernel bug and was fixed in the kernel directly
If you have such problems, try to read the mailing list on www.suspend2.net, there it is listed _________________ Building an operation system without soruce code,

alternatively i think theres suspend2-sources in the tree (gentoo-sources with suspend2 iirc). _________________ Please add [solved] to the initial post's subject line if you feel your problem is resolved.

I have made progress and am configuring the kernel; I have another question though:
I use a file as my swap and not a swap partition.
How do I use a swap file as my suspend to location or must I define a file.
Reason being that I am using a single partition with a swap file due to the efi partition confines. _________________ ]8P |
