WineX freezes

No matter which win32 executable I try to run in WineX, everytime my hole system freezes. I cant switch to console, kill X server, ... I just can press reset :/
How can I fix this? Any ideas?

should I try the cvs version?

btw: I also tried the cvs and the latest stable version of wine (without X), didnt work, too.

If you have a second comp connected via network or a acces to another comp connected to the ineternet you could try a remote login (ssh, telnet, or whatever). If a connect is possible you may check whats going on in your system (ps -x, top,...) Maybe you just lost the keyboard and mouse and a remote kill of X gives you back full control over your machine.

so, i tried it. but when i started something with wine(x), my hole system is really locked, it even doesnt respond to pings anymore. so ssh, telnet, ... wont work, too. but i really dont know where to start now. any ideas?
btw: just installed the latest winex ebuild...

so, I got rid of the kernel oss drivers and installed alsa, now winex runs!
