|
|
I'm still yet to find any console AIM client (even ones listed here when I searched) that actually works as it should.
I've tried (that I can remember):
pork (from portage) - buggy, random disconnects
centericq (from portage and a newer version from source on their site) - nice interface and easy to use, too bad it never connects
naim - don't think this ever connected
maim - doesn't connect
caim - doesn't connect
...and I still want to get this working. It needs to be console so I can ssh in remotely and use it.
Does anyone have any suggestions, maybe even any idea on how to make centericq work? I searched around and tried reducing my buddy list to < 100 as suggested in a couple places to no avail. |

i use naim a lot
maybe you don't have the correct im screen name/password configured? it asks me for the password, so it's more likely to be the name... _________________ In the end, the love you get is equal to the love you make

I'll give it a try again, but I'm sure I have the SN and password right, I use it on windows clients with no problem. |

So was I, and I liked that irc feel also but the disconnects for no apparent reason just aren't gonna work. naim seems nice so far, we'll see if it reconnects nice and stays connected all night and tomorrow. |
