Damn... I got the same error when trying to emerge kdelibs. but on x11 it worked for me.
Could it be a dependency-conflict in order to much use-flags???
@Vla: Yes. Just choose option 1.
*EDIT*
Got it.
My thought was right. According to my huge USE-Section in make.conf I get big package-dependencies. After checking my emerge error more seriously, I saw that kdelibs depends on cups and vice-versa. So this cannot work.
For Workaround I did "USE="-cups" emerge kdelibs". This will compile kdelibs w/o cups-support. But after kdelibs is installed an "emerge kdelibs" will push cups in again and everything should be fine.
So check out your dependencies and try to compile a package with less USEs. If at least one dependecy is solved u just remerge the package normally again and u are fine. |
after rsync everything emerged

Yes i did it, anyway it's the CFLAGS "-combine" which break the compilation, i removed it and no more error |

just wanted to say thanks conrad -- been using your guides and no-sources for quite some time now.
also, thanks n0rbi666 for the firefox-2.0 fix. I used the same to fix openoffice-2.0.4 as well:
Code: | # Compile problems with these ...
filter-flags "-funroll-loops"
filter-flags "-fprefetch-loop-arrays"
filter-flags "-fno-default-inline"
#filter-flags "-fstack-protector"
#filter-flags "-fstack-protector-all"
filter-flags "-ftracer"
filter-flags "-fforce-addr"
replace-flags "-O?" "-O2"
gcc-specs-ssp && filter-flags -fno-stack-protector-all -fstack-protector -fstack-protector-all |

|
Hello.
I've gived a try to this gentoo hack, but till now i'm unable to boot the live cd...
I've an Acer ASPIRE 1692 WMLi, and, as any other linux, the pcmcia hangs when its start, until i change some configuration in the config.opts...
the problem is that i have to boot every livecd with no pcmcia support...
with the conrad, no matter with parameters i give to kernel at boot time, it always starts the pcmcia, and consequently it hangs...
ive tried:
Code: |
conrad nopcmcia
conrad pcmcia=no
|
and till now, no sucess....
any ideias??

My Acer Aspire 5585WXMI also can not boot using conrad livecd,
I don't know why, everything goes perfect using official 2006.1 livecd.
Dees there any options should be fixed while loading conrad kernel? |

Hi,
I tried to backup conrad make.conf and make new with safe CFLAGS, but still I have the same error compiling VMWare...
I was googling and found that it is kernel problem, I`m using 2.6.18-no2
Any ideas? |

No.
When I emerged it with STABLE flags and toolchain about month ago, it works well...
But now, when I want to migrate to CONRAD with its extreme flags python doesn't compile...
Others packages emerged and work well!
My system has become rather faster.
BUT I can't reemerge python... |

To my VMware problem: I changed kernel to 2.6.17-reiser4 (reiser4-gentoo-sources) and vmware-modules work. But I had problem with installing Windows 2000/XP/2003 because of speed of disk. Windows was installing about 15 hours! and deleting 10 KB file in 5 minuts! I have changed my /home partition, where VMware Image was, to ext3 and now everything work! |

I have found solution to above problem with python:
migrating from gcc-4.1.1-r2 to gcc-4.3.0-alpha20061111
Python compiled succesfully! |

Hey !
Im having a little problem with emerging no-sources.
I've followed the guide exactly as it's written and
till emerge -e world(step 8.9) there have been no
problems. But when Im trying to emerge no-sources it
downloads the sources and after downloading 2.6.18-no2.bz2
portage tells me that it "Couldn't download '2.6.18-no2.bz2'. Aborting.
I dont know what to do about it. Could somebody help me?
Thanks in advance for your tips _________________ http://www.gentoo.org/images/gentoo-badge3.png |

You should download 2.6.18-no2.bz2 by yourself and put it into /usr/portage/distfiles |
