Any kind of volume normalizer would be great, especially useful at lower volumes. In xmms I'm using:
http://volnorm.sourceforge.net/
It's old but it does the job. |

Definitely xmms-joystick.
I miss being able to change tracks when I'm running full-screen applications and games etc.
So very useful. |

I prefer setting the replay-gain of individual files so they're all roughly the same volume, personally. |

Regarding the dumb-plugin and playing modules.
The plugin can't seem to handle internal loop commands very well (talking .mod now). It's more or less essential for playing modules correctly.
Anyone working on a fix for this?
Thanks! |

|
|
At first: hello to all gentoo-lovers..
..my question is about (the really nice!) player called audacious.
..is there any how-to or way to emerge the projectM as plugin for audacious ?
libprojectm / projectm is already emerg'ed - but audacious doesn't recognize it...
I moved now nearly completely to my desktop gentoo as operating system - and I enjoyed Milkdrop under Win* so much!
So is there any chance to get this work under audacious, too ?
With best regards,
Eike
p.s.: before posting here I asked google many, many.. many times - but no results for me! :\ |

@Mehlano:
Read this page, and I think there is no Ebuild for this plugin yet - you'll probably have to install it manually. |

Within the audacious-projectM source isn't a directory called 'xmms'
So where take from?
I cannot install xmms(1) via emerge - installed xmms2 via manually install with gentoo wiki advising (ebuilds)

Yeah! That was my point to start from.
..downloaded the tarball and tried to compile sources. Failed as you can see at my previous posting..
Any hints how to get this work? _________________ myWorkstation::

mehlano - projectM support via libvisual will be in an upcoming release of audacious-plugins. In the mean time, I'm using amarok when I have the need for some projectM stimulation. |

why doesnt the "J" search function work like in winamp? it really reallly sucks, it seems to search on file names instead of the id3 tags in the playlist. retarded.
for example i have a file that is named "14.- The Black Eyed Peas - audio delite at low fidelity - Elitemusic.org.mp3" and id3 tag
Artist: Black Eyed Peas - [EMG]
Title: Audio Delite At Low Fidelity
however when i type black in the search, i get results for massive attack black milk and other songs, but nothing from black eyed peas even thou i have alot of them. and its case sensetive.. like one remebers what songs are correctly tagged ant which are not..

It's fixed in SVN. It broke during 1.2.2 somehow. |

Talk to Joker in audacious' IRC channel, he maintains the dumb plugin. |

We don't support Microsoft's compressed wav format by default. USE="sndfile" |

Hi all,
Audacious is becoming more and more interesting ( I just discovered audacious-plugins-ugly). There are only 2 important things that don't make me use audacious in place of xmms:
- I didn't see any options in audacious or any command-line clients that permits moving in a song. I need all basic playback features ( play/pause, next, previous, forward, backward) from command-line because I use a remote that does needed actions from scripts ( I don't use lirc).
- I just wait to see if the mplayer plugin will stay compatible with audacious. Video playing is something important for me because all sites videos are viewed from within xmms for the moment. I don't want to write one script for my music application and another for my video one.
Congratulations Nenolod to this great application. |

See audtool --help -- it can remote control Audacious.
MPlayer is here to stay. |

Thanks nenolog answering me,
I am happy that mplayer will stay in audacious. It is really a good thing! Nice
Quote: | See audtool --help -- it can remote control Audacious. |
I already looked at it. I saw options to move in playlist, play/pause/stop a song, get all infos we could want but nothing for seeking in a song ( forward and backward of 5 seconds for examples).
I use audacious-1.2.2 , audacious-plugins-1.2.5 audacious-plugins-ugly-1.2.0
EDIT:
In fact, there was the old version of audtool (1.1 from svn) that was still here. I removed it and now I have the options playback-seek and playback-seek-relative. playback-seek works but I wasn't able to do the same with playback-seek-relative. When playing, I tried:
Code: |
audtool playback-seek-relative 3
audtool playback-seek-relative +3
audtool playback-seek-relative -3
audtool playback-seek-relative -0:01
|
but none worked. The song restarted playing from the beginning.
It's not really a big problem |
