I'm running a 2.6.16 kernel (suspend2-sources) on a Dell Latitude d610. In /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/state it gives remaining capacity as the manufacturer's reported capacity but in /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/info it gives last full capacity as something a bit lower. Isn't that a bug?? Shouldn't the remaining capacity always be less than or equal to the last full capacity? |

Mine shows remaining capacity as the manufacturers reported when the AC-adapter is plugged in. As soon as I disconnect it, it drops to last full capacity. In other words, remaining capacity shows to much when the AC-adapter is plugged in and the battery is fully charged. _________________ PKA Cuber

Cuber: Wouldn't you say that is a bug in acpi? Should it be reported? To whom? |

I would guess ACPI gets this incorrect information from the hardware/firmware, and that it is a known problem (since the last full capacity is not updated when the AC-adapter is plugged in). Whomever wrote that part of the kernel would know, though. I will probably go on ignoring it. _________________ PKA Cuber
