I'm running Gentoo 2006.1 @ IBM Z60m with i810 graphic chipset and 1280x800 LCD
I'd like to setup framebuffer to get fullscreen terminal in ttyNs where is no X running... everything I tried ends with no result.
Can anyone tell me everything I need to configure to get it? Bootsplash isn't what I want or need, only fullscreen terminal

Then maybe you'd add the solution to here for others trying to find answer for it and [Solved] to your first post's subject :?

no problem, for me, is was trivial after a little more search

For people with hardver same as mine, (speaking of i810), no not enable it in kernel, enable vesafb-tng... if you use newer one (I suppouse), there will be an option where you can set your deafult resolution, below a vesa option, so set it to yours and recompile kernel. This solved my problem. Edit your /boot/grub/menu.lst and voila
