Hi,
I have installed beryl and I'm running it on my nvidia & KDE system. Everything's fine until I try to switch to a text terminal and then back to X, instead of flabbaergasting bery/KDE I can see only a black screen with (surprise) a mouse coursor. Did anybody have a similar problem?

paluszak, I've had the same problem. Turns out it's a bug in nvidia-drivers.
(See http://bugs.beryl-project.org/ticket/121 or http://bugs.beryl-project.org/ticket/46 for relevant entries in the beryl bugs DB)
What i did was change some settings in beryl-manager and it fixed the problem for me:
Under "Advanced Beryl Options" change "Composite Overlay Window" to "Don't Use COW"
Under "Beryl Settings Manager" in category "General Options" unselect the option "Sync to VBlank".
I don't know which of these two options did the trick. |

Todah rabah, seems like turning off COW worked the magic and now I can switch my terminals back and forth.
Cheers,
J.
edit: Actually, I had to disable "Sync to VBlank" as well, I got random result with "Don't use COW" and "Sync to VBlank" on. |
