good way to analyze my security

currently i have ntop running and normal system logs on my machine, but i want a little more indepth knowledge of what goes on may anyone reccomend a more indepth way to view what is happening on my system. thank you.

Have a look at bastille it's in portage. It goes through explaining security options, pretty cool!
