|
|
I was creating a tinygentoo based on this howto.
I did everything descripted in this howto, but after running
emerge suddenly breaks with this error message:
Code: | >>> Unpacking source...
>>> Unpacking e2fsprogs-1.38.tar.gz to /var/tmp/portage/com_err-1.38/work
Child died with signal 11
Error exit delayed from previous errors
!!! ERROR: sys-libs/com_err-1.38 failed.
!!! Function unpack, Line 381, Exitcode 2
!!! failure unpacking e2fsprogs-1.38.tar.gz
!!! If you need support, post the topmost build error, NOT this status message. |
and now i am not able to emerge anything!
typing "gzip" prints out "segmentation fault"...
i haven't jet figured out which update is causing is, but it seems reproducible, cause i messed up my third tinygentoo .
What can i do to repair my system?
my emerge --info

That looks suspiciously like a broken zlib/gzip/tar issue. Have you tried re-installing these? (building a binpkg from a chroot on another box, and moving it across?) _________________ Stuart Longland (a.k.a Redhatter, VK4MSL)

I have the same problem now following this howto in Gentoo 2006.1.
"emerge -auDN world" does break while compiling "coreutils-5.94-r1"
It looks like that this is a common Problem when somebody try to build Gentoo from Scratch.
https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-505335-highlight-coreutils.html
The Output of my console is the following
Code: |

The problem seems to be the command "rmdir".
The content of the Log File "/var/log/sandbox/sandbox-sys-apps_-_coreutils-5.94-r1-31392.log" say the same thing.
Code: |
rmdir: /var/tmp/portage/coreutils-5.94-r1/work/coreutils-5.94/confdir3/confdir3/....
|
Can somebody please help me with this Bug. |
