I emerged Mail-ClamAV, the perl clamav plugin for spamassassin.
I tried configuringit according to the instructions at: http://wiki.apache.org/spamassassin/ClamAVPlugin but ran into irreconcilable errors and finally gave up.
Any help would be appreciated.

It's been too long now for me to remember specific error messages. But I do remember that the plugin would not load as emerged, nor after tweaking the configuration files according to the wiki.

I guess I really did give up. I've been using ClamAV clamd instead which accomplishes the same thing, probably better, but as an additional step.

But anyway, thanks for asking.
