Hallo,

habe xorg-x11 installiert und anschließend dann configuriert.

beim startx kommt dann diese Fehlermeldung, kann mir da jemand behilflich sein?

Driver can't support depth 24

Bei VGA/VESA kannst Du in der /etc/X11/xorg.conf einstellen, welche Farbtiefe er standartmäßig nimmt. In Deinem Fall sind wohl max. 16 Bit möglich.

Der Treiber deiner Grafikkarte unterstützt die in der xorg.conf eingestellte Farbtiefe von 24bit nicht.

habe gestern noch ein wenig an meiner xorg-datei rumgespielt, wenn ich nun als user starten möchte, kommt diese meldung:

1. sagt, das du kein agpgart hast, das passiert zB bei
ati-opensource treibern, da musst du noch agp-support in den kernel einbauen

2. device /dev/mouse existiert nicht,
such mal in /dev deine mouse (zB /dev/input/....
und änder in der xorg.conf dann /dev/mouse
entprechend ab

das ist eine gute Frage, welches Touchpad ich habe, finde nirgends eine Einstellung dafür.

Habe alternativ noch eine USB Maus (Speedlink) angeschlossen, diese wird aber auhc nicht angezeigt, aber priorität hätte erstmal das Touchpad, kann man irgendwie herausfinden, welches dies ist?

Versuch statt /dev/mouse mal /dev/input/mice, das hat bei mir noch immer funktioniert.

Wurde bereits ja gepostet, dass meine Graka keine 24bit unterstützt aber in der xorg.conf steht bis max. 16 bit...

Hi,

du hast mit großer Wahscheinlichkeit auch noch eine xorg.conf in dem Homedir von root. Benenne die mal um oder entferne diese.

stimmt, in /root gab es so eine datei, habe ich entfernt und auch "DefaultDepth 16" eingetragen, aber geholfen hat es noch nicht:

Hi,

wie bereits vorgeschlagen brauchst du die Treiber agpgart sowie die spezifischen DRI Treiber für deinen AGP-Chipsatz.

Es wäre von Vorteil, wenn du mal die Ausgabe von "lspci" posten könntest!

EDIT: Außerdem könntest du mal ein "emerge -av xterm" laufen lassen.

Hi,

das Modul "intel_agp" könnte bei dem Chipsatz möglicherweise nicht schaden. Vergiss natürlich dabei nicht den i810 (oder wie auch immer der heißen mag) im Kernel zu aktivieren und natürlich auch das Modul zu laden, damit du dann DRI auch wirklich aktivieren kannst.
