Hi,
I want to install my printer by following http://www.gentoo.org/doc/nl/printing-howto.xml, but I don't have a /dev/lp0, what could I've done wrong, didn't do.
BTW1: my printer is connected and switched on...
BTW2: my kernel config for parallel support looks like:

all the rest is switched off (not build in, not as a module)

You also need to add this in.....
[*] IEEE 1284 transfer modes

Sorry for my late response , but my /dev/lp0 is working now and I alread could print sth. with echo "test' > /dev/lp0. I still need to install CUPS, I hope everything goes smoothly...
