|
|
Hi
Because azureus is now too heavy on my resources, I'm trying out the web-gui plugin.
If I startup in 'swt', stuff is working nicely.
But to go lower on resources, I like to run azureus only in console mode.
And connect with another machine through the web-gui.
So I edited gentoo.config => UI='web' But then I'm getting:
Could not find class: org.gudy.azureus2.ui.web.UI
I checked and the class is not in Azureus2.jar So I could update this jar.
But would prefer doing it via portage, I see no relevant use flags....so....
ne1 got this, working? |

I use screen with console UI and the web-ui plugin. If you have already installed the web-ui plugin you only need to emerge screen, edit gentoo.config to use console ui (UI = "console") and then run azureus using screen: screen azureus. You will have the web-ui working without the swt interface, then you only need to press Ctrl+A and then D to exit from screen back to the normal console, you can go back to azureus console at anytime writing screen -x. |

perfect
but how to quit azureus normally without killing it the hard way ?
i guess with a command in the "screened" azureus-console but i'd like sort of an automated solution (start on boot, stop on halt)
(initscript?)
EDIT: the guess was right, the console-command is "quit"
Still the automation problem |

I would like also use Azureus in console mode only on my gent2 box (no x-windows) and remote access via AzSMRC GUI. Can any1 help me with that?
I got following dependencies, which can be safely exluded?
Code: |
emerge -av net-p2p/azureus
These are the packages that I would merge, in order:
Calculating dependencies ...done!
[ebuild U ] app-misc/pax-utils-0.1.13 [0.1.9] -caps 52 kB
[ebuild N ] dev-python/pycrypto-2.0.1-r5 -bindist -gmp -test 150 kB

*** Portage will stop merging at this point and reload itself,
recalculate dependencies, and complete the merge.
You may avoid the remerging of packages by updating portage on its own.

it should work with jre, commons-cli, log4j. I didn't like all the X dependancies form azureus ebuild, so my server has just Azureus2.jar, commons-cli.jar and log4j.jar (all downloaded from azures website.) without ebuild I don't get that fancy startup script so I start it as "java -jar Azureus2.jar --ui=console" inside screen session. It works with azsmrc (there are plenty swt widgets and display errors but it works)
Too bad there is no support for -X USE flag:/ |

Well Can't test it ,still tryin' to start Azureus on my gent2 in cosole modew, now emerging java and related stuff... As to shutdown IMHO Azureus has a chance to exit correctly because Processes are signaled with SIGTERM to allow them to exit gracefully of course unless u poweroff the box |

i'm shuting it down with "halt" or "shutdown -h now", but azureus says after a new boot that it hasn't been shut down properly... |
