|
|
I have an installation of apache2 + php4 + mysql and i'd like to stick this inside a chroot.
The problem i've had is i use
Code: |
cd /vservers/www
cp -ax /sbin /bin /etc /usr /var /dev /lib .
|
the problem is this works fine and dandy i can even chroot into it using:
Code: | chroot /vserver/www |
but when i run Code: | /etc/init.d/apache2 start | from within the chroot i get all sorts of errors.. would there be any reason for this? i want to get apache running and then i'll clear up my config files etc (including files the chroot doesn't need).

Its ok i've fixed the problems now it involved a directory i didn't copy over /mnt/.init.d/
now i've copied it it works perfectly, can anyone advise me on how to safely remove portage without causing any damage to a current system?
