Since I had an error before while using 64-Bit kernel, I updated gcc to 4.1.1. Now I have gcc 4.1.1 and the 32-Bit kernel and the above error occurs during Gentoo installation when making kernel.

Is it possible to downgrade gcc?

Thanks in advance!

EDIT:
I started over from "creating the file system", but the error stays the same. :?:

what version of kernel are you compiling ?
the last one from emerge ?

i've got problem with the last one, so i'm using the 2.6.16, compiled for HPPA7100 and HPPA8600: it works great

what about you ?

I'm sorry, but I don't know currently. I'm away and can answer on Saturday at earliest.

There was also another problem with "emerge hppa-sources", because no repository had the necessary file.
Then I found one with Google and put this into make.conf as GENTOO_MIRROR="..."

I'll have a look when I'm at home again.

did you try to untick the options for the hpux compatibility regarding the binary and so on?
Seems to be related regarding the latest line of the kernel compiling messages...

To be honest, I cancelled to Gentoo installation and stepped back to HP-UX 11i v1.

I'll start over with the next Gentoo release. :)
