I cant get xorg to work. I am following this guide and when I use Xorg -configure to make a config file it tells me it worked but It couldnt find my mouse. When I run X -config /root/xorg.conf.new a large nvidia image with a white background shows up, but then it comes ends, and I get this
Code: |
header stuff or something
(++) Log file: "/var/log/Xorg.0.log", Time: Mon March 26 21:14:19 2007
(EE) NVIDIA(0): Failed to initialize the GLX m0odule; please check in your X log file that the GLX module has been loaded in your X server, and that the module is the Nvidia GLX module. If you continue to encounter problems, please try reinstalling the NVIDIA driver.

And I checked to see if glx was being loaded...and it is. Then I went in and changed /dev/mouse to /dev/input/mice and again tried X -config /root/xorg.conf.new....this time it worked, I saw a black an white pattern and I could move my mouse around. So, is the nvidia warning anything to worry about? |

Well that depends if you want to get GLX etc working properly.
Xorg is moaning because GLX is specified in the Xorg.conf file but you are using the Nvidia module and not the Nvidia-GLX module. _________________ trample the weak, hurdle the dead.. . |

yeah, if figured it out, I was using nvidia drivers instead of nv, so it was looking for the wrong stuff |
