Does this help? krogebry wrote: | chrismcdirty wrote: | I plan on getting a Gentoo G on my calf eventually. Probably with Tux in close proximity.
Can't see your tat, though, because my company's proxy only allows outbound on port 80 |
It's still healing, but here ya go:

I have a bunch of ink, however no Gentoo yet... That Penguin Liberation Front one could almost pass for a toughguy banger tattoo. Slap that puppy on your neck!

I think this type of tattoo can be regarded as the "significant other's name" kind, i.e. generally not a good idea for relationship stability reasons |
hahaahah, fair enough. I'm a little surprised that there aren't any fans of the needle here. At least I didn't get prtg on my right knuckles and emrg on the left.
I guess I see this more along the lines of the Kanji thing. Only people who can read and write Kanji would understand a Kanji symbol, everyone else just sees some lines and art. Basically the same thing applies here, it's like throwing up a flag and saying "Who loves the penguin!?!" ( said with a heavy metal growl ).
Thanks for the comments so far, my inked up friends and I have had some good laughs! |
Hey, hey. Who says there's no inked Gentoo fans ? Know what you mean about "throwing up a flag". Karateka know what it says on my arm (or any self respecting one does; I mean, you really should be able to tell "karate-do" when you see it, it's just three Kanji after all).
I was thinking about getting inked with Linux or Tux or something, but getting a specific distribution? Man, that's dedication!
The real funny thing is, I thought "man, that's a cool tattoo". Jeesh, I'm a geek! _________________ Carlton Stedman

I have often thought of getting a tat, but something patriotic. Like a Canadian flag or something.
That said: *applause*
I applaud your tat, however you broke the rules... What happened in Vegas should have stayed in Vegas. _________________ Dont make it idiot proof, make it work.

Seriously speaking, that is a big tatoo! If I were a tatoo fan, I would have made it much, much smaller. |

Not a dedicated person? |
Sometimes I am. But my computer is a hobby to me, I don't need it for work and I don't study computer science or anything like that. So I'm constantly looking for new stuff to do when it comes to my PC. Right now I'm messing around with Beryl. |
YAY! you sound very similar to me, well minus the giving up on gentoo part
But I , usually, jump from distro to distro every few months (once i get a system up and running and get bored) but gentoo has managed to keep my interest (and a section of my HDD) since the start of the year, I just keep finding more and more to do with gentoo, all these fancy toys and configurabilty (well more like breakability for me)
happy gentoo-ing, Ducky. |

As a kempoka, I don't see how learning to read japanese has anything to do with self-respect, but I won't derail this thread by saying any more on that subject.
I have quite a few tattoos myself. No Gentoo/linux ones, but I can't say I haven't thought about it _________________ Vermont Free PC

wow thats got me beat... nice one dude.
My dog is called Gentoo and while both my partner and I love it, people on the street end up calling him all sorts of names like 'Gentle' and in one case even asked, 'You called your dog genital !?!' |

Nice.
I hope it looks as good in a couple of months.
I do see how the top part stung a little. The flesh is quite thin there!
Cheers

Besides the color and placement, I like it. A black/white "G" on your neck would probably look better, but of course it's your body and who knows, if there's already something on your neck What about adding a little tux in the non-filled part of this tattoo?
cheers,
ph |
In my country people would say G=G.A.Y.
But I think a cool gentoo logo on the neck would be cool. |

Write on your self with a ball point pen and just redraw it every couple of days. Or you could scar yourself like the Omega's do here at marshall. _________________ My Linux Blog
