Hi,

I'm tearing my hair out here trying to get a wireless card working. I can't see the wood for the trees any more -- can anybody help out?

I have a 3com card that still appears to be supported by madwifi. I'm using wpa_supplicant. The router is a Linksys Wireless-G gateway that has other machines (not running linux) connecting okay using WPA-PSK and TKIP.

I'm running linux-2.6.19-gentoo-r5 kernel with 802.11 options built in.

/etc/conf.d/net:

Code:

config_eth0=( "192.168.1.100 netmask 255.255.255.0 brd 192.168.1.255" )
routes_eth0=( "default gw 192.168.1.1" )

modules=( "wpa_supplicant" )
wpa_supplicant_ath0="-Dmadwifi"

config_ath0=( "192.168.1.200 netmask 255.255.255.0 brd 192.168.1.255" )
routes_ath0=( "default gw 192.168.1.1" )

wpa_supplicant.conf:

Code:

ctrl_interface=/var/run/wpa_supplicant
ap_scan=2
network={
        ssid="Home7Net"
        scan_ssid=1
        proto=WPA
        key_mgmt=WPA-PSK
        pairwise=TKIP
        group=TKIP
        psk="notofinteresthere"
        priority=2
}

Running wpa_supplicant from the command line shows:

Code:

Close, but no cigar. Anybody got any bright ideas? This is driving me nuts...

Thanks in advance

Eventually stumbled across the problem.

Rolled back to madwifi 0.9.2.1 (something I picked up in the forum) and re-emerged wpa_supplicant with USE=madwifi.

Everything is happy happy and shiny.
