A lowly Ultra5:
- 440Mhz proc
- 1GB RAM
- 40GB IDE Drive
- Kernel 2.6.17-gentoo-r8
Runs fine for me. Oh and its hostname is gonzo - because that's the hostname it had when I got it and it was running Solaris and I'm not original enough to think of a new one.

My Ultra10 here at home is still cranking along. I had to retire the Ultra10 at work to make room for a new Dell 9150 (also running Gentoo of course), it did seem to gain new life as a bug investigation machine for driver devlopment although it is back to running solaris 8.
I have my eyes on an ultra 60 somebody may be retiring at work so the ultra 10 at home may get replaced this year.

Hey all,
I just got myself a Ultra 60 (2X360, 512MB RAM, Creator 3d) off ebay. I also got 2 450Mhz CPUs at home waiting for installing once the machine arrives, along with 1Gig of ram. This is going to be my very first Gentoo install on a Sparc, cant wait!... I have a second video card too (Elite3d). Im hoping I can run dual monitors with it, if not, i'll just get myself a second Elite3d, or even a second Creator3d.

Enterprise 220R with 2GB RAM & 2 x 450MHz. Still trying to get past the MMU error when booting my own kernel. LiveCD works just fine so I am unsure what I'm doing wrong. 
-- "Fixed" this by using the config on the LiveCD (/proc/config.gz) I'll have to do a diff to find out what was different. Finally it's running under its own power. |

Realized I never posted my sys' specs.
sparcy: SunBlade 100 with UltraSPARC-IIe@500MHz, 1Gb RAM and a measly 18GB IDE HDD. Runs 2.6.20-gentoo-r5, Gnome 2.16 and the rest of the usual trimmings. Getting ready upgrade to gcc 4.1.1. |

One Sparc here:
lily: Netra T1 200AC, 500MHz IIe CPU, 2GB RAM, 80GB IDE disk (*)
running Gentoo and working nicely as a webcache/mailserver for a small workgroup.
(*) The disk is hooked up to a run-of-the-mill PC ATA133 controller in the PCI slot; the system boots from a cd containing just the kernel image. Looks scary, but this setup has been working for months without a hitch. |

I have a SparcStation 5 with 64 MB of RAM and 3 GB of hard disk.
I started the gentoo tftp image on it, it works properly, but as you might guess it is terribly slow
I will install a gentoo on it, as soon as I have a lot of time It seems /dev/random is too slow generating entropy I can't connect using ssh, I have to investigate it to have it work faster...
Edit: Finally I managed generating entropy... using hdparm -t /dev/sda1... I am not proud of it, but at least I could remotely connect to start the gentoo install.
Here are some more specs:

Sol: E4500, 8x400Mhz 8MBcache USII (Blackbird), 8GB ram, 4 CPU boards, 2 sbus I/O boards with SOC+, 1 Graphics I/O board with SOC+, 1 disk board. 2 sbus QFE boards, 2 sbus FW SCSI+FE boards (a total of 13 FastEthernet ports, 10 of which I'm currently running bonded...ran out of switch ports), 2 sbus FCAL boards, and one sbus Qlogic isp UW SCSI SE controller (which currently causes a kernel crash if I connect anything to it). Creator3D Series 3. Two 18.2GB 10000RPM Ultra2 Wide SCSI drives (unfortunately currently hooked up to one of the esp FW SCSI controllers, which each of the disks can saturate on it's own). --> My new Sun desktop =P

After I finally decided to make a proper null-modem cable I'm currently installing Gentoo on one of my Sun E450s:
4x300MHz, 1GB RAM, 10x18GB SCSI-drives.
Got one more similar E450 to take care of after this first machine is up and running |

i have 3 sparcs at home
one sparc station 20 with 2 ross hypersparc processors @ 150 mhz (dunno the type) with 320 mb of ram (i think), but that machine is stuffed in the cupboard waiting for me to get it running...don't have any time to do that atm
and then two ultra 10's. both with ultrasparc IIi @ 333 mhz and half a gig of ram. one of them is being my router and home server, the other one is waiting for me to make it work as well, just like the sparc station 20. |

I have a Sun Netra X1 Rack that currently up and running with vanilla-sources-2.6.21.6 (for some odd reason I couldn't get gentoo-sources 2.6 and 2.4.. to boot)
500mhz TI UltraSparc IIe (Hummingbird)
768MBs of Ram
40GB & 20GB hds
It's currently my router & webserver for my house but I'm still thinking of more things to do with it.. maybe ldap? |
