please tell me about your experiences.
i need a sata raid controller. HARDWARE raid. really hardware raid. no disks visible in the os. only volumes created in raid controller bios.
interface: pci
possibly one listed on this website. please excuse the german language, but the list should be understandable for everybody.
i once had big problems with a PARTLY open source driver of a adaptec controller, so now i am asking before buying.
this one looks good to me, but i am unsure if it will work correctly under gentoo. driver support is only for major distributions...
and thoughts welcome

The ones on that list from 3ware and Areca are hardware RAID, and they are supported in the vanilla kernels. |
