It's extremely moody, it works fine sometimes, sometimes it doesn't. Seems to be fine now _________________ last.fm

If you were to click on an updated post that has an updated post above it, it will mark both as read. I never understood this behaviour but it is kinda annoying. |

|
|
For the past couple of days, whenever I click on the little orange "View newest post" icon next to a thread with unread posts that I've read before, it always jumps to a post that I've already read, and I have to manually scroll, or move ahead in a multi-page thread, to get to where I want. It seems like it thinks I last read every thread some time on Saturday evening or early Sunday morning, because it takes me to the first post in the thread made after that time (or the beginning, if the thread is newer than that).
The orange / white page icons on the posts themselves, that indicate which ones are read or not, seem to be accurate, it's just the part that tries to jump to the first unread post that gets it wrong. I've tried logging out and deleting all cookies from this server, but it doesn't help. Anyone got any ideas? |

Ideas? Not really. Just commiseration. Although it's intermittent, this happens to me as well. Sometimes however, I end up redirected to a page informing me that there have been no new posts since my last visit. _________________ Thomas S. Howard |

It seems this was caused by Squid doing something strange - I cleared its cache, and now the forum works properly. I still don't know why it happened all of a sudden, though - I haven't upgraded or reconfigured Squid for a few weeks now. Perhaps an admin could check whether there were any recent changes that would cause things to be cached for too long, but if that's not it, then sorry for the false alarm. |

Well, I'm Squidless, and it still does this. _________________ Thomas S. Howard |
